The Big Picture

Written on November 21, 2007

Yeah, I know, so much for trying to blog everyday. Chad and I have been working on the artist profiles (http://inside.bandbo.com) and getting those on the main site as soon as possible. Also getting new digs episodes posted and sent out.
The big picture is we will be fueling some of our content based on the information provided in your artist profiles. I can’t go into to much detail but everything will become inter-related and enhance the “community” experience on the site. As I’ve said before, this is not a new MySpace, nor are we trying to compete, the features directly relate to local music and the needs of musicians. Though we have taken the web models of various sites we’re merely taking a different approach. There are sites that help sell, promote, record, etc… your music, what we do is help organize your info. Fans can hit your Bandbo profile and see all the websites you have and also hear some music and find their way to a show. If you haven’t seen our google integrated show calendar check it out here (http://inside.bandbo.com/profile.php?id=79) it’s quite amazing, and it will help girlfriends all across the country find the way to their boyfriends band.
Anyway, the point is, if you haven’t created a Bandbo Profile for your band or group or for yourself do it today. We will be taking away our old artist list and replacing it with a sexy-rexy new layout that links to Bandbo Profiles and thus links to all your websites and whatever else. ALSO, we will be pulling our homepage feature artists from the bands that have created profiles BUT only if you have uploaded a picture, songs and shows, none of us wanna see an empty profile.
I have to be honest, it is refreshing to browse through the bands and get all the info I need without waiting for stupid 100mb background images to load or 1 of your 16 embedded movies that all auto-play on myspace. Though your MySpace page is very important I just sometimes don’t have 45 minutes to wait for the music player to launch.
Alright Jonies, I’ll catch up with you all after I get my eat on for T-Day. Be safe in your travels and play well at your shows.
